The women’s ministry of Garden City Baptist Church has been established for the purpose of extending the gospel of Jesus Christ, building spiritual and personal growth in the women of this church. We seek to accomplish this through prayer, bible studies, conferences, fellowship events, fundraisers and building friendships. We will embrace women of all ages and create a ministry in our church where we can learn, grow, find encouragement, acceptance and be better equipped to serve each other, our church and our Lord Jesus Christ. We will be Christ-centered, Bible-based, and love-led.

Discerning the Voice of God: How to Recognize When God Speaks

According to Priscilla Shirer, "Recognizing God's voice is not just a privilege given to a select few. It is the right of every believer." By studying the Word of God and heightening our spiritual senses to hear the still small voice of God, women may indeed recognize the promptings of the Holy Spirit. From the Old Testament prophets to modern day believers, Shirer walks through Scripture that captures the method and tone of God's communication and teaches to beware of counterfeit voices. How we each encounter God's voice may differ, but the nature of it does not.

The Yarn Club meets every Wednesday at 12:30 at the church.  Our goal is to teach others the skill and to learn from each other.  We have selected several projects;  Man's Watch Caps for the docks of Charleston, Prayer Shawls for Hospice and Chemo Caps.  We are having a great time, but we need help.  WE NEED KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS!  You don't have to attend the meetings.  You can do the project at home and bring it back to the church.  We can give you a pattern and we have some yarn and needles that has been donated.  We appreciate all donations.  Call the church office at 651-3663 to volunteer or for more information.

We meet monthly on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. as a part of the Women's Ministry.  It's our time of Christian fellowship and an opportunity to get to know other women in the church body.  We do a variety of projects and missions.  We would love for you to join us.  Call the church office if you have any questions.  Check the calendar for dates.

 The Cookbook Project is back on track. More recipes are needed—Main Dishes, Appetizers, Salads, and Side Dishes. Please submit your recipes, typed or hand written clearly, to the Church office. Also, volunteers are needed to help organize and put it together once all the recipes have been submitted.  Deadline for recipes is May 27.

A support group for widows is meeting May 20 at 4 p.m.
